The Herkimer diamond is a unique form of quartz that crystallizes in a configuration of double-pointed, hard, pure (transparent) or included (with inclusions of other minerals) prismatic crystals. The name of this mineral comes from its discovery as a pseudo-diamond in Herkimer County, New York, USA. 

Subsequently, Herkimer diamonds were discovered in Oaxaca, Mexico, and in Spain, with those from Oaxaca often containing inclusions of rutile or goethite. 

This mineral radiates energy of refined harmony, increasing the alertness of instincts and spontaneous freedom. It helps us to “be,” by simultaneously inspiring both softness and strength, and reveals the path to a deeper understanding of our true spiritual essence; understanding this aspect enhances self-awareness and self-esteem for the true and eternal being that we are, living within each of us.
