PI YU - WEALTH MAGNET AND DESTROYER OF DISEASE AND BAD LUCK

Pi Yu are mythical ancient dragons that look like winged lions. They have the head of a dragon, the body of a lion, a horn on the head, bulging eyes, sharp teeth and necessarily wings. The first descriptions of them are images and stone carvings from the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). They are considered powerful protectors of the souls of the dead, feng shui practitioners and all people who need to attract wealth into their lives.
PI Yu have an insatiable appetite for gold, silver and jewelry. They are traditionally seen as auspicious beings who possess mystical powers capable of attracting wealth from all directions. According to feng shui, this is especially beneficial for those going through a bad year. They are believed to have the ability to help anyone suffering from bad feng shui, afflicted by Tai Sui (Grand Duke) or haunted by bad luck. They always come in pairs but have no gender. One creature is responsible for protection from bad luck and the removal of obstacles, and the second for wealth. It goes into the world to seek gold and other forms of wealth. When it returns to its owner's home, it guards the riches. Placing a pair of Pooh figures at home or in the office prevents money from running out. This symbol is mostly used for protection and attracting prosperity in feng shui.

One of the amusing legends about Pee Yu is that they broke the law of Heaven by defecating on the floor of Heaven. The Jade Emperor punished them by sealing their anus forever and declared that Pi Yu's diet would be limited to gold, silver and precious stonesл  For this reason, their bellies are filled with unlimited amounts of gold and all forms of wealth and luck, and nothing comes out of them, but remains with their owner. It is believed that one who carries them in his bag or places them in a specific place in his home will constantly attract all kinds of wealth, as Pee Yu are hungry and want to eat all the time.

Sometimes they also have a reputation for being ferocious creatures. The large teeth seen in their mouths are used to attack demons and evil spirits, draining their essence and turning it into wealth. Pi Yu protect against diseases caused by these evil spirits. They patrol the heavens to keep demons at bay and protect their owners from harm. One of the symbolic meanings of Pi Yu is that they will always protect their owner even after they pass from this life to the next world. In ancient China, there was a law that only royalty could possess these mystical dragons, and that it was strictly forbidden for anyone else to possess them, including officials. This law was followed until the end of the Qing dynasty.

In feng shui, apart from attracting wealth, they are also used for protection from Gradn Duke and Sui Po. They are placed in the home, in the direction affected by these annual calamities or carried in the bag or car if one belongs to an affected sign (according to the Chinese zodiac) by one of these calamities.
